NATIONAL AGRICULTURE DAY POSTER CONTEST and POETRY CONTEST WINNERS FOR 2011

The organizations Agri-Culture and the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau are pleased to announce the winners of the annual National Agriculture Day Poster Contest and the National Agriculture Day Poetry Contest. 
 It was announced that Grace Bowman, 6th grader from Bradley Elementary School in Watsonville received 1st place honors in the 2011 Agri-Culture and Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau National Ag Day Poster Contest. 
 It was also announced that Ashley Malone, 10th grader from Monte Vista Christian High School in Watsonville received 1st place honors and is the overall winner in the 2011 National Ag Day Poetry Contest.  The contest theme, which is open to all public and private schools in Santa Cruz County and the Pajaro Valley, is “Grown in Santa Cruz County and the Pajaro Valley”.  Farm Bureau President, Chris Enright and Agri-Culture President Bill Ringe both stated, “We received many excellent entries for both of these contests.  We are honored that so many students took the time to artistically express what is grown in Santa Cruz County and the Pajaro Valley.” 
            Grace and Ashley have each received a $200 savings bond, a ribbon and gifts.
